The journey to sobriety is different for everyone. I remember clearly the day I chose to quit drinking; to FEEL life; to be unapologetically me and fearless in the face of all this life has to offer.
I knew what I had to do, just not how to do it. I tried many times on my own with limited success, always wondering why it didn’t work. It was my problem and no one else could help me… I had to do it for myself.
At Schick Shadel Hospital, I discovered the reasons and the science that explained why drinking was a problem for me. After seven years of sobriety, my heart is grateful.
I am here to watch my son grow up and to be OK in this world of highs and lows. I now fill my soul with live music and the best of friends. I Live, love, laugh, and dance like no one is watching.
I like me better when I don’t drink. Cheers to life!
