Another way of giving to the Schick Shadel Foundation is through planned giving. Through Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Bequests and Beneficiary Designation, you have the opportunity to give to the foundation during your lifetime and/or after your death Gift Annuities provide you with a lifetime income. You receive an immediate income tax deduction for a portion of the gift and a part of the annuity payments is a tax free return on the investment. Charitable Remainder Trusts allow you and/or a designated beneficiary to receive income and at the end of your lifetime or the period of years established (not to exceed 20 years), at that time the remainder of the trust transfers to the foundation. Two types of charitable remainder trusts are annuity trusts and unitrusts. The difference lies in how the income you receive is calculated and distributed. Charitable Bequests refer to anything you may give to the foundation from your estate or through a living trust. There a several ways of distributing your estate and a professional advisor should be contacted. Beneficiary Designation means the Schick Shadel Foundation becomes the beneficiary of your life insurance or retirement assets. Upon your death the foundation would receive the specified asset while living you do have some tax advantages and flexibility in your charitable giving.
